Noam Chomsky

Dear Editor,
Re: "Against the Grain"--by Noam Chomsky--Mar/22/93--Maclean's Magazine
Noam Chomsky's manufacturing of a conspiracy wherein the media and government are
controlled by "big business" is nothing more than a ploy to have them dance
to his politically correct, leftist, tribalist drumbeat.
If "big business" controlled the media and government, then how does one
explain the daily insults leveled by the media against the business community. How
does one explain the vicious assault on industry by the media-applauded, government-backed
ecology crusaders?
It is true than some businesses lobby the government, and so do many left-wing anti-business
organizations. But, would Mr. Chomsky advocate a government constitutionally restricted
from extorting taxpayers' money to favor special-interest groups? Not on your life
he wouldn't.
Sincerely,
Glenn Woiceshyn
