"The Moral Bankruptcy of America"
by Glenn Woiceshyn

Dear Editor,

Re: "An American View"--by Fred Bruning--Sep/11/95--Maclean's Magazine

If Fred Bruning seeks the cause of the rise in violence and public apathy towards the victims in America, which he appropriately ascribes to "The Moral Bankruptcy of America in the '90s," he should consider the major intellectual and social changes that have taken place over the past several decades.

With Progressive Education stunting young minds -- counterculture professors preaching subjectivism, moral relativism and tribalism -- rising statism and its corollary: pressure-group warfare and economic decay -- a perversion of justice that treats criminals like victims and victims like criminals -- rising egalitarianism where achievement is sacrificed to envy; and finally, with the American founding principles of individualism virtually being destroyed by collectivism, one has a perfect recipe for moral bankruptcy and social suicide.

Sincerely,

Glenn Woiceshyn
