Like Fresh Air

Re: Articles on Globe 90 Conference--by Terence Corcoran--Mar/??/90--The Globe and
Mail
Reading Terence Corcoran's articles on the Globe 90 conference was like inhaling
a breath of fresh, unpolluted, non-toxic air. His analysis of the conceptual con
game employed by politicians and environmentalists in using the term "sustainable
development" is brilliant. Sustainable development is a booby trap set to strangle
the economy and destroy our freedom and standard of living. It implies that technology
and growth are the enemy and government is the savior.
It is not the first time that a vague concept has been used for destruction. Consider
all the horrors that have been committed by governments in the name of the "common
good" or the "will of the people." It is unfortunate that we don't
have more thinkers like Terence Corcoran to protect us from the statists and nihilists.
Sincerely,
